Show cancelled at the Beacon

Unfortunately due to my performance partner’s illness our show Wild Moon Rising is cancelled tomorrow evening (July 19th). Apologies to those of you planning to see it. Hopefully we will get another opportunity to perform it in the not too distant future.

Wild Moon Rising at The Beacon, Hastings on Friday July 19th 2019 at 7.30pm

An evening of stories of the daring deeds and quiet wisdom and of the pain and wonder of being Woman. Ariane Hadjilias and Carol Prior breathe new life into the age-old art of traditional storytelling and song with a direct, fresh and vibrant approach. They weave together storytelling and song in an embodied style with flute, percussion and a mischievous passion that is unique and infused with a fearless love of life and its mysteries. The show is part of the Hastings Fringe Festival and takes place at the lovely West Hill venue – The Beacon (67 – 68 St Mary’s Terrace Hastings) The show starts at 7.30pm (doors open 7pm) and there is a bar for your favourite beverage! Singing Workshop with RoCoCo – Robertsbridge Community Choir 13/10/2018

RoCoCo workshopI’m delighted to be teaching my first singing workshop in 4 years next Saturday October 13th It’s being hosted by RoCoCo – Robertsbridge Community which I set up 17 years ago (but which I led for just 2 years). It’s taking place between 2 pm and 5 pm at the Robertsbridge Club adjacent to the Station Rd car park. I will be teaching my own compositions influenced by my love of folk, blues, jazz, African and gospel music. The cost of the afternoon is just £5 (bargain). Singers of all abilities are welcome and there is no pressure to become a member of RoCoCo after the workshop, although if you did you would be most welcome! Singing at A Brighter Day Fundraiser for Citizens Advice 1066 Sunday September 30th

I’m performing at A Brighter Day Fundraiser for Citizens Advice 1066 at the Printworks this Sunday September 30th. I am one of 15 acts who all have contributed to the CD of the same name. I’m on at 6.10pm and will be singing a short set including my arrangement of a beautiful Sikh prayer Eck Ong Kar which is on the CD. The whole event goes on between 4pm and 10.30pm, so why not come along and support a worthwhile cause whilst hearing some wonderful music! Tickets £7/5 and a family ticket is £12.

Gig at The Beacon this Sunday July 22nd 2018

 

I’m performing this Sunday July 22nd at the well loved popular Hastings venue, The Beacon, 67-68 St Mary’s Terrace. It’s a charity fundraiser for the The Penny Beale Memorial Fund and it’s part of the Hastings Fringe Festival. Doors open at 6pm and the show starts at 7.30pm.  Entry by donation. I’m on at 9pm singing songs that I’ve written about remarkable women, the perils of topless sunbathing and the importance of self esteem. Copies of my CD’s Sweet Precious Time and Spirit of the Wind will be available to purchase on the night at special discount prices!

The Alternative Valentine’s Show at The Printworks, Hastings on February 15th 2018

I’m performing in The Alternative Valentine’s Show tomorrow evening – Thursday February 15th taking place at The Printworks Arts Club, 14 Claremont, Hastings TN34 1HE – stylish and accessible! It’s the annual show by Performers Who Write, a local group that I joined 2 years ago. It starts at 7.30pm and tickets are £7.50 – including booking fee available in advance or £8 on the door. Singing at the Lantern Society tonight!

I’m looking forward to singing later tonight at the Lantern Society. It’s a monthly candlelit acoustic club run by Trevor Moss and Hannah-Lou at The Printworks (14 Claremont America Ground, Hastings TN34 1HA). The evening starts at 7.30pm and is only £3 to get in, so a lovely affordable night out to hear some great music. It’ll be my first time so I’ll let you know how the evening went if you can’t make it. I’ll be singing a mixture of both my own songs and those by other songwriters. Hope to see some of you there later!
