I’m really looking forward to performing at the Posh Club in Hastings this Friday 28th February. I’m on at 1pm but the whole event takes place between 12 and 3pm. The Posh Club is a glamorous performance and social club for older people in 5 locations across London and the South East and Hastings is very lucky to be one of the locations. The tickets are all sold out, such is the popularity of these occasions. I can’t wait!
I’m really looking forward to singing at Hastings Herring Fair this Saturday November 23rd 2019 taking place at 1.30pm on the Stade open space in the Old Town (next to the fishing boats and Hastings Contemporary). I’ll be singing songs that tell extraordinary stories about ordinary/extraordinary women, including my own compositions. It’s free to get in and it will be ‘under cover’ so we’ll all stay dry!
I’m getting excited about singing in the Arts Tent at Hastings Pride on Sunday (August 25th) and the weather looks like it’s going to be good! I’m first on at 1pm so I look forward to seeing lots of friendly smiling faces in the audience. I’m very pleased to have my Scottish pal Annie from Findhorn with me who’ll be joining me on a couple of numbers as well as having a jazz guitarist accompany me on some bossa nova…
Unfortunately due to my performance partner’s illness our show Wild Moon Rising is cancelled tomorrow evening (July 19th). Apologies to those of you planning to see it. Hopefully we will get another opportunity to perform it in the not too distant future.
An evening of stories of the daring deeds and quiet wisdom and of the pain and wonder of being Woman. They weave together storytelling and song in an embodied style with flute, percussion and a mischievous passion that is unique and infused with a fearless love of life and its mysteries. “As the founder of Robertsbridge Community Choir (RoCoCo) Carol made a welcome return bringing her inspiring and joyful choir leading skills, crafting our voices through layers of harmonies to produce a most satisfying rendition of a couple of her own songs. A great workshop from a talented choir leader and song writer. Thank you Carol!”
I’m delighted to be teaching my first singing workshop in 4 years next Saturday October 13th It’s being hosted by RoCoCo – Robertsbridge Community which I set up 17 years ago (but which I led for just 2 years). It’s taking place between 2 pm and 5 pm at the Robertsbridge Club adjacent to the Station Rd car park. I will be teaching my own compositions influenced by my love of folk, blues, jazz, African and gospel music. The cost of the afternoon is just £5 (bargain). Singers of all abilities are welcome and there is no pressure to become a member of RoCoCo after the workshop, although if you did you would be most welcome!
